Barcelona appear to have confirmed Alexis Sanchez’s transfer to Arsenal on their website – before quickly taking the article down.
Gunners’ fans all over the world are frantically awaiting confirmation from either club that they have completed the unlikely signing of the Chilean.
Many supporters still can’t believe that Arsenal have edged out competition from Liverpool, Juventus and AC Milan for the 25-year-old, with a £30million fee being agreed last week.
So Barca were definitely playing with people’s blood pressure when an article apparently appeared on their official website today, appearing to confirm the switch.
It was quickly removed – presumably because it was mistakenly published too early, or the result of a hack on their site from cheeky supporters.
However. Barca have not mentioned the incident as of yet, so a hack seems unlikely, and with the deal set to be completed soon anyway, it seems like they just let the cat out of the bag a little early.
