Mathieu Debuchy has taken to Instagram to confirm he is joining Arsenal this summer.
The Newcastle defender, who was part of the France squad that were knocked out of the World Cup by Germany on Friday, posted: 'Au revoir Brésil. Bonjour @arsenal' after the 1-0 quarter-final defeat.
And according to reports, Debuchy also told French reporters that he had agreed to the Premier League switch.
‘Yes, I will be joining Arsenal for next season,’ he is said to have told a reporter from TF1 television.
Arsenal are thought to have agreed a fee with Newcastle for the wantaway star, which could rise to £11million.
And Alan Pardew's side have already given Debuchy's squad number (26) to new signing Ayoze Perez.
Debuchy will be a replacement in North London for Manchester City's Bacary Sagna, who he is keeping out of the French team at the moment.
Rumours have stepped up a notch over the last few days, especially after the 29-year-old favourited a tweet that read: '@Arsenal @MatDebuchy hopefully soon to be unveiled.'
He also removed the mention of 'NUFC' that was previously on his Twitter bio.
