Liverpool target Xherdan Shaqiri has played down speculation linking him with a summer move to Anfield.
The Swiss midfielder, who impressed at the World Cup, is reportedly wanted by Reds boss Brendan Rodgers.
But despite a Twitter comment from Shaqiri last week hinting he wants to quit Bayern Munich to gain regular first-team football, the 22-year-old has now backtracked and says his future is at the Allianz.
‘It is the time of year when much is written, but as we all know, there is very little truth behind it,’ Shaqiri said.
‘As you all know I am currently on holiday so I am not in talks with other clubs nor have I spoken with any journalists.
‘I have a contract with FC Bayern until 2016.
‘My advisors are in regular contact with the responsible people at FC Bayern so there is no reason for speculation.’
