Edinson Cavani could be inching closer to a move to the Premier League after failing to return to training, according to reports in France.
The striker was due to report back to Paris Saint-Germain training today, after being granted an extended holiday following his participation in the World Cup.
But several sources in the French media are reporting Cavani was a no-show, with no explanation given by his team-mates or the PSG coaching staff.
The Uruguayan international has been linked with Manchester United, despite only signing for the Ligue 1 champions last summer in a £55m deal.
PSG's Edinson Cavani has not reported for pre-season training today as was scheduled. No explanation given for his absence yet. #PSG #MUFC—And it now looks almost certain he is trying to orchestrate a move away from the French capital, with United known admirers.

Meanwhile, club vice-chairman Ed Woodward yesterday confirmed new boss Louis van Gaal has not been handed a ‘fixed budget’ and that United are ‘willing to spend’ this summer
