Arsenal may miss out on a deal for Sami Khedira as Real Madrid could offer the midfielder to Monaco to seal the arrival of James Rodriguez, according to reports in Germany.
Newspaper Bild report Madrid are planning on making an offer to French side Monaco which would see Khedira move to the Ligue 1 club in exchange for man-of-the-moment Rodriguez.
The Gunners were believed to be closing on a deal for the World Cup winner, despite increasing interest from London rivals Chelsea, but it appears this new development could throw a spanner in the works, should Bild’s claims prove to be accurate.
Monaco are said to be demanding nearly £70m for the Colombian, who starred at the World Cup where he picked up the Golden Boot award.
