Talk about timing! Last night Prince William and the former Kate Middleton, now officially known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, were the guests of honor at the London premiere of ‘Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.’ The stars of the movie, Idris Elba, who portrayed Nelson Mandela in the movie, and Naomie Harris, who portrayed Winnie Mandela, also attended the premiere. It was at the end of the movie’s showing that the news was announced that Nelson Mandela had passed away at the age of 95.
People reports that Nelson’s daughters, Zindzi and Zenoni, attended the premiere but left before the movie started. They reportedly were told about their father’s death but wanted the premiere to continue. Prince William paid tribute to the civil rights icon after hearing the news.
