Lille's Nigerian international goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama was on Friday rewarded for his exceptional start to the season with a new two-year deal at the French Ligue 1 side.
The 31-year-old, who has now gone 1,035 minutes without conceding a goal in the league, had his contract extended until 2017.
He
is within 141 minutes of the Ligue 1 all-time record of 1176 minutes
unbeaten, held by former Bordeaux goalkeeper Gaetan Huard since 1993.
Enyeama
has not let a goal in since 15 September, as Lille, with just four
goals conceded, sit second in Ligue 1 a mere one point behind champions
Paris Saint-Germain.
"I'm really happy to
be part of this team and delighted to have signed this contract
extension," said Enyeama. "I just want to continue helping the team
reach their objectives this season and for those to come."
