Chelsea close in on Serbian sensation

Chelsea close in on Serbian sensation
Chelsea are close to sealing a £12m deal for Benfica starlet Lazar Markovic, according to reports from O Jogo.
The 19-year-old winger has recently emerged as one of European football’s finest talents, attracting admiring glances from a number of the continent’s elite sides thanks to his dazzling displays in Lisbon.
Despite having only signed for the Portuguese giants a matter of months ago from Partizan Belgrade, Jose Mourinho is keen to lure him to Stamford Bridge next month.

Reports suggest that a fee of around £12m-£15m has been agreed between the two clubs, which could see the teenager make a shock switch to the London outfit.
Rumours indicate the deal could include a loan option for Benfica, which would see Markovic stay at the Estadio da Luz for the remainder of the season.
However, ‘The Special One’ may opt against making such an agreement as he plots to win the Premier League at the first opportunity since returning to Chelsea.
A deal would indicate a change in transfer philosophy at the club, with Markovic joining other young stars such as Christian Atsu and Marco van Ginkel.
